SHACKAN INDIAN BAND
ELECTION CODE REFERENDUM 2026

Voters of the Shackan Indian Band are hereby notified that there is to be a referendum vote on whether to approve amendments to the Custom Election Code of the Shackan Indian Band, 2017.
The question to be submitted to the Eligible Electors for a Referendum Vote is:
"Do you approve of the proposed amendments to the Shackan Election Code as presented to the membership on May 14th and August 4th, 2026?"
Voters may vote by mail, online, telephone or in person.
All Voters will be mailed a package sent to their last known address containing instructions on how to vote, a mail-in ballot package and a PIN for voting online or by telephone. Online and telephone voting will be open from 9:00am September 8th to 8:00pm September 19th. If you do not receive this package by August 21st, 2026, please contact the Electoral Officer.
In person voting will take place:
Date: September 19, 2026
Time: 8:00am to 8:00pm
Location: Shackan Band Hall, 4943 Potatoeillshie Road at Shackan IR#11.
The votes will be counted at the polling station upon the close of polls.
Information concerning the amendments will be mailed to all Eligible Voters.
